Thanks, Moster, for sending the snow! The most we've had in one storm in years!

Above the Fog, Below the Snow
by compound complex ini live in the sierra nevada foothills of california; a selling point for prospective homeowners in the slightly lower elevation is what is touted in the subject title.
well, right now we are being blasted by a storm barreling down from canada, with hazardous driving and blizzard conditions in the offing, higher up.. as to fog, this photo offers a rare display of misty conditions over our lake, that after the last major rain storm.
it reminds me of summer days of my youth on the pacific coast..

Hardly Society-approved, but in the film, Worlds Apart, a Danish "elder" sports long hair and a beard.

Can anyone name a single incident when bethel has fed the poor ever ?
by Chook incharity is lacking from the house of god.
i remember reading once about some young pioneer sisters who needed emergency accommodation and where turn away from brooklyn because they weren’t special pioneers.
charity begins at home..

If you mean, by extension, that Rutherford was "Bethel," he did feed the poor, starving brothers in Germany, I believe, during a convention. He provided hot dogs and potato salad, as I recall.
So much I don't remember, like the exact time and location. I wasn't there . . .
Jesus fed the masses with fish, JFR, hot dogs.

Greetings, smiddy, Still Totally ADD, and AFRIKANMAN:
I appreciate your comments. THANKS!
smiddy: Yeah, we don't have much choice about our weather, do we? Snowfall used to be very heavy here every year. Now, less and less . . . Hope you like the contrasting photo.
Still Totally ADD: I traveled to Nyack from Brooklyn on speaking assignments. Loved the beauty of upstate NY. Be careful and stay warm!
AFRIKANMAN: Sorry about your H20 dilemma. Photos are horrific, and reminiscent of California's past situation. Even here in the watershed for all California, we had restrictions similar to your 3B rules. I had to make huge adjustments in water use on a major landscaping job. Interesting that something called a humectant, applied by a professional company to the huge lawns, allowed a 60% reduction in water yet the grass was greener than ever during our very hot summers.

It's odd Lett mentioned "wearing a beard ... [and] ... heavy makeup" in the same breath (6:50"): [image of bearded, made-up young man] -- jp1692
Right after signing off here, I went to market to get some groceries, and that young man's twin was walking the aisles, in a fur-collared designer jacket and tight pants, definitely not the redneck type I referenced earlier. He looked like a runway model.
Lett and Morris would have had simultaneous strokes . . .

Funny about hair and people's reaction to its growth/length.

Which dog are you referring to?

Both men and women make passes -- "Your long hair is so romantic": some ask to stroke my beard; others say my looks would improve sans all the hair on the head (almost halfway down my back): "I'm getting out my scissors!" Some people have no decorum. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted long hair, but it wasn't allowed (for all the obvious reasons).
It amazes me how many old men like me have long hair and beards. I live in redneck country.
I no longer care what anyone says.
